Managing Claim Assignment

There are many ways to assign or reassign claims in ZOLL Billing. Take a look at the information below or watch the following video.

View all claims assigned to a Biller

This is an easy way to see claims assigned to a Biller.

On the navigation bar, click Dashboard.

Look under "Claim assignments & reminders." If there are claims that are assigned to users, they will display here.

Under the "Assigned claims" column, click the number.

A page opens that lists the individual claim numbers and some claim information such as the patient name, the claim status, the current payer, and the timely filing countdown.

Note: You must have permission to change claim ownership. See Billing Roles and Permissions.

Assigning claim ownership from the Claim page

Claims can be assigned and unassigned on the Claim page.

  1. Click the "Assign to"field and select the name from the list.
  2. Click Save.

Reassigning claim ownership from the Claim page

Claim ownership can be changed anytime.  When you reassign the claim, the system removes the claim from the previous owner's Inbox and displays it in the new assignee's Inbox.

  1. Click the "Assign to" field and select a name from the list.
  2. Click Save.

  1. On the "Assign to" field, click the X.
  2. Click Save.

Claim ownership from the Search Results page

Note: You must have permission to change claim ownership. See Billing Roles and Permissions.

Use the Search Results page to assign or reassign claims.

  1. On the navigation bar, click 'Advanced'.

  2. Enter the criteria you wish to search on and then click Search.

  3. You can assign all the claims at once by clicking the check box at the top of the table on the far left column.

  4. You can pick-and-choose which claims to assign by clicking the claim line. As you pick a link, it highlights in yellow.

  5. When you are done, click Assign selected.

  6. On the pop-up window, click the Select user field and then pick the user's name you want to assign the claim(s) to from the list.

  7. Click Assign.
